RIVER STREET PLANNING & DEVELOPMENT 

River Street Planning and Development is a professional planning firm that focuses on consensus and capacity building, comprehensive planning, community and economic development and resilience. River Street will conduct comprehensive public outreach to ensure extensive community feedback is gathered and heard.

Lead Planner. Margaret Irwin, Principal

Margaret is a confident and experienced public speaker, trainer, mediator and facilitator with a practice in public engagement and outreach, planning and economic development. In recent months, she has developed a framework for the assessment of the impact of COVID-19 on community development in upstate communities. In recent years, she has been a tireless advocate for communities impacted by extreme weather and climate change. Margaret’s work facilitates recovery, develops model initiatives for adaptation and resiliency and crafts consensus plans for sustainability and resiliency.

Planner and Graphic Design. Christina Snyder

Christina is a planner, landscape architect and graphic designer who coordinates River Street’s community engagement and outreach. She has led our transition to online engagement in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Chris coordinates our in-house graphic design of websites, promotional materials, presentations and infographics for strategies. She is a contributing researcher and author to the Copake Waterfront and Community Revitalization Plan.

GIS Director. Amy Ferguson

Amy has a background in education, planning, and writing and editing technical documents. She is proficient in the development of Geographic Information Systems for land use analysis. She has prepared a range of GIS products including map series for waterfront strategies and comprehensive plans. GIS mapping using ESRI ArcView software creating zoning, land use and target area maps. Her responsibilities at River Street beyond GIS include writing Comprehensive Plans, developing community surveys, public meeting planning, and project documentation and photography.
